On a promising plateau between Maria Gern and highly over the Schellenberger valley Ettenberg is situated. In the again reconditioned mountain church, builded 1724/25 from Fürstprobst Julius Heinrich of Rehlingen, the grace picture "Mariä afflicting" is admired. The church was in former times rich at "Votivtafeln", on which the pilgrims thanked heavenly powers for the rescue from suffer and misery. The splendourful baroque interior arrangement with rich stucco works of Josef Hoepp from Burghausen and valuable wood carvings is worth seeing.

Beside the church one can take a snack at the Mesnerwirt. Annually in July in Ettenberg the Anna celebration with a light-prozession and a procession is celebrated in honours of the rich widow Knoblachin, which donated much to the church.
